Do You Have a Process to Ensure Hiring Great People?

Feb 07, 2024

Hiring the right people is an art and a science, a skill honed over 15-20 years at our practice. Our unique five-part process ensures we attract and select candidates who truly align with our values and needs.

1. The Perfect Advertisement: Our journey begins with crafting an advertisement that mirrors our practice's ethos. This ad details our philosophy, location, working hours, and benefits, providing a clear picture of what we stand for.

2. Résumé Collection: Upon attracting interest with our ad, we gather résumés. This step is crucial in understanding the professional background of our applicants.

3. Culture Index Survey: Next, we delve deeper with a 'Culture Index' survey, examining seven personality traits: autonomy, sociability, work pace, attention to detail, energy level, creativity, and logical thinking. This quick yet effective tool gives us a snapshot of whether a candidate's personality aligns with our practice's dynamics.

4. The FaceTime Interview: Conducted by our office manager, this step involves probing questions to gauge if the candidate is a good fit. Importantly, we also assess their commitment by noting if they show up for the interview – a step half of the candidates fail.

5. The Blink Interview: This in-person interaction allows us to observe basic manners, punctuality, and the candidate’s ability to engage with our team.

From hundreds of résumés, only a few make it to the final stages. Our rigorous process means that by the time we hire someone, they have been thoroughly vetted, reflecting the high standards of our practice. Hiring is more than just filling a position; it’s about finding the right fit for our team, a skill that is critical for building a successful and harmonious work environment.
